It was announced last week the midfielder had been charged for allegedly directing a homophobic insult at an opposing player.
The FA launched an investigation into the incident after Songo’o was shown a straight red card by referee Paul Howard in the Shrimps’ home defeat to Tranmere Rovers at the end of last month.

It added the club would await the final report from the match before making any specific comment on the incident.
Songo’o collected a two-game ban for the red card, meaning he missed the matches at Stevenage and Bolton Wanderers before being charged with an ‘aggravated breach’ of FA Rule E3.
The 29-year-old has until next Wednesday, February 24, to provide a response but on Thursday afternoon, Morecambe published an update.

“In order to respect the integrity of the FA’s investigation, the club will look to issue further comment once the process has been completed.”
