In 2016 a special bee-friendly environment was created at the park on the banks of the River Wyre
A special meadow seed mix of British wildflowers and grasses has been planted to provide a haven for bees and other insects, as part of a national campaign to halt the decline of the UK’s native wild bee population.
The park has a bee-friendly nectar garden containing flowers, herbs, fruit and vegetables selected to attract wildlife and ensure a continuous supply of nectar and pollen from spring through to autumn.
