Garth inmate was injured by prisoners with mop handle

Inmate Yasir Ali was attacked in an unprovoked assault at HMP Garth at around 10.25am on New Year's Day, 2019, Preston Crown Court was told.
His attackers, Arjan Bance, 29, and now of HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes, and his co-defendant Abdullah Benagi, 29, used their fists and a mop handle to inflict injuries on Ali in his cell.

Hide AdProsecutors said he was left with a fractured left eye-socket and cheekbone.
He was found in his cell injured and bleeding almost an hour later by another prisoner.
CCTV in the jail showed the two defendants and one other man enter the cell, close the door and then leave in different directions four minutes later.
Both admitted wounding.
Recorder Tania Griffiths QC adjourned their sentencing until September 21.
