A man had his tyres shredded by police after he was spotted pelting people with eggs whilst driving around Preston last night (Tuesday, December 14).

The city’s Tac Ops squad was called into action after it was reported the man and his passengers were driving around the city lobbing eggs at members of the public.

Officers located the car and gave chase when the driver failed to stop, with a pursuit taking place around the city.

The driver was brought to a stop a short time later after officers used the police stinger (pictured) to puncture his tyres.

Police said the occupants had been smoking cannabis and the driver was arrested for ‘multiple offences’.

A police spokesman said: “The occupants of this vehicle had been throwing eggs at members of the public and smoking cannabis.

"It was sighted in Preston before it failed to stop and was pursued.

"Vehicle stung and driver arrested for multiple offences. Eggcelent result.”
