In September, the Friends of Conway Park in Fulwood revealed that phase one of the work to overhaul the park has been completed, after group members, with the support of the local community, managed to raise a total of £46,000.
Works included draining and resurfacing the play area, replacing half of the play equipment, new access paths within the play area, planting new trees and installing new benches and welcome signs.

Now to complete work, a further £50,000 is needed.

The remaining £25,000 would go on constructing a new all-weather path linking the south end of the park to the existing footpath network at the northern end.
Geoff Rand, chairman of The Friends of Conway Park, said: "The current lockdown restrictions have proved how invaluable our parks and recreational areas really are and we should use our very best endeavours to maintain these public amenities."
He added: "The work undertaken within the play area so far has already attracted a sharp increase in users, encouraging more people than ever into the park to take advantage of this valuable facility.

"Additionally, and for the first time ever, the proposed new path will permit all weather access along the entire length of the park for users of buggies and mobility equipment, together with dog walkers and families. It will also provide a dry standing area for watching football on one of the many pitches run and maintained by Cadley FC."
Fundraising activities have been curtailed by coronavirus restrictions, so a crowdfunding campaign was launched as well as applications for grants.
Whilst the site is owned and maintained by Preston City Council current budget restrictions mean that little or no money is available for projects of this nature. The complete project however will be managed by Preston City Council with the assistance of Friends Of Conway Park.
